Murthy doesn’t take too much time to come up with a draft. He writes and shoots it’s that simple. If he is short of the required money to shoot ‘Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy’, he may go for crowd funding

Incidentally, the film is rumoured to be Megastar Chiranjeevi’s comeback film

When it was revealed that people’s star R Narayana Murthy registered a title Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy with the Film Chamber a fortnight ago, no one, especially megastar Chiranjeevi’s fans, knew that the man who generally dons multiple hats was serious about making the film! However, after a little digging, we have confirmed news that Murthy, known for left-oriented films that expose the exploitation of society's lower strata, is indeed taking the film on to the sets. “Yes, he will start the film once he wraps up ‘Bonala Pothuraju’ which will flag-off from mid April. Besides directing it, he will also star in it,” a source close to the actor confirmed.

For starters, Narasimha Reddy hailing from present day Kurnool is considered to be one of the first freedom fighters who led a revolt against British occupation – even before the 1857 Sepoy Mutiny. To rewind a bit, Chiranjeevi’s name was associated with the film on the life and times of Narasimha Reddy last year though the actor never went public on it. Over the weekend too, writer Paruchuri Venkateshwara Rao expressed his wish to see the actor-turned-politician playing the freedom fighter.

Nonetheless, it seems Chiru has evinced no interest in making the film, promoting Murthy to go ahead with his vision. The source adds, “Murthy doesn’t take too much time to come up with a draft. He writes and shoots – it’s that simple. If he is short of the required money to shoot the film, he may go for crowd funding.”

The source also stated that Murthy will join forces with director Puri Jagannaadh for a new film. “Contrary to the news that the film will move on to sets shortly, it may take time as Puri is committed for the year – he has films with Nithiin and Varun Tej once he wraps up ‘Jyothi Lakshmi’. The hatke combination might see the light of day only next year.”
