Perhaps for the first-time, actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has opened up about his mother's sad demise and what she underwent during her final phase. Wearing a heart on his sleeve, Nagarjuna shared the difficulties his family faced during the treatment of his mother Annapurna Akkineni.

"I feel sad when I think of my mother. She underwent a lot of pain, struggle during the final phase of her life. But the moment I think of my father, I smile. He passed away peacefully," said Nagarjuna Akkineni who attended a private event.

Stressing the need for palliative care, Nag said that he later regretted that he couldn't opt for palliative car treatment, the treatment relieves pain without dealing with the cause of the condition. However, Nag admitted that the treatment of his father-late ANR was better as he underwent palliative treatment. Nag described palliative treatment as the need of the hour for terminally-ill persons.
