As 'Gopala Gopala' is eyeing for a Pongal release, let's look into the theatrical business of the movie. Featuring PawanKalyan as Lord Krishna in  20 minute role and Venkatesh as his devotee, the film raked huge expectations due to this star presence. As Pawan's presence could bring huge openings, the makers are heard cashing on this fame.

Only in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone, Gopala Gopala got sold out to various buyers for around 38 crores, says trade circles. If we include other states and overseas, Gopala Gopala has pocketed nearly 46 crores by shelling its distribution rights. Pawan's craze is the lone factor for pulling such massive numbers, as we know that Venky's market is not that strong these days. But what is to be seen is, if the movie could really get these investments back safely.

Releasing the movie on the eve of Sankranthi will surely get terrific openings but the film should impress audiences big time to stay in race for a time and reap profits. Probably we have to see the reaction of cinema lovers as Pawan will not be seen for more than 15-20 minutes in the flick.
