Director Pawan Wadeyar has emerged as the ‘star’ movie maker in Sandalwood. The much hyped film Rana Vikrama has added another success to his kitty, who was basking in the success of Govindaya Namaha and Googly. As a director, Pawan is all set to score hattrick with Rana Vikrama, which is his first combination of him with Power Star Puneet Rajkumar. Pawan has chosen a terrific subject for the movie, which is a tailor made role for Puneet Rajkumar. What more will a Kannadiga expect, when he see Appu fighting for Kannada land by locking horns with anti-social elements in an action packed entertainer? This is where is combination of the duo has become successful.

Story:

Puneet Rajkumar is seen in two different shades in Rana Vikrama, where he has essayed the grand-father’s role (pre-independence time) and grandson’s role (present day as a tough cop).  Vikram (Puneet Rajkumar) will be sent on an append ship training to a small village Vikrama Theertha, near Belagavi, which will be the victim of border dispute between the two states – Karnataka and Maharashtra. With this one line story audience can get the gist of the film, which is packed with all the necessary commercial elements.

Performance:

Puneet Rajkumar is the showman, who just gives nice goose-bumps with his action. Nobody else would have essayed tough cop Vikram’s role other than Puneet. Seeing Puneet as a tough cop is a biggest feast for Puneet’s fans. Sizzling beauty Adah Sharma has been lost in Puneet and Pawan’s show. She has been limited only to the picturisation of melodious track ‘Neene Neene’. South lass Anjali is promising in an extended supporting role. Girish Karnad, Ranghayana Raghu, Mukyamantri Chandru, Avinash, Ashok, Sudha Belawadi and others are commendable in supporting roles.

Technical:

Sandalwood’s sensational music composer V Harikrishna gets thumbs up for his work. Be it a song or background score he has done a remarkable job.

Actions and fights are the biggest strength of Rana Vikrama, which any Puneet Rajkumar’s fan will expect. Stunt choreographer Ravi Verma needs to hailed for choreographing terrific action scenes.

Director Pawan Wadeyar is the winner with Rana Vikrama. A master of all, who has worked in every corner of the script and making it a remarkable film in Puneet’s career. He has reached the expectation level of audience, who expects something different from Puneet Rajkumar.

Verdict:

Rana Vikrama is a feast for Puneet Rajkumar’s fans and must watch movie, who have all enjoyed Govindaya Namaha and Googly. It is a must watch film for the people, who expect something different in Sandalwood.
