While many of you must be eager to see Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor‘s Padmaavat, you will not believe this latest piece of information! Following the trend of every big release, the ticket rates of Padmaavat have been increased too and the costliest ticket available is for Rs 2400. Surprised? Well, don’t be! PVR: Director’s Cut – Ambience in Delhi is one of the premier most theatres in India and every big film ticket is sold at an exorbitant rate. The ticket rates for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Tiger Zinda Hai were also Rs 2400. That makes Padmaavat a joint record holder of having the costliest ever ticket for a movie in India till date.
But what’s surprising is that this Padmaavat ticket is even costlier than your airfare (with a meal) from Mumbai to Goa. Shocked? Well, we just checked the ticket rate of the first flight from Mumbai to Goa tomorrow (January 23) and it is just Rs 2300 (approx). And if you add a meal to your Padmaavat ticket, the rate would go beyond Rs 3000. So would you prefer flying to Goa or see Padmaavat in the premier most theatre in India? For those of you who don’t know, Padmaavat revolves around the life of Rani of Mewar, Padmavati (Deepika). After she gets married to Rajput King Raja Rawal Ratan Singh (Shahid), a tyrant ruler – Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer) comes over to see her beauty, that everyone is speaking about. While a married Rajput lady can’t come in front of a stranger, the king allows Alauddin to see her reflection through a mirror. The tyrant falls in love instantly and wages a war against the Rajputs to claim the queen. But as soon as she realises that her kingdom is falling apart, Padmavati kills herself by committing jauhar (self immolation). With the Karni Sena continuing to protest against the movie and calling for a nationwide ban, stay tuned for more updates about Padmaavat right here.
