Sun TV to pay Rs 10 Lakh to Mahesh's Mom

A fast track court on Friday directed Sun TV to pay Rs 10,00,500 to actress Sukanya for airing an interview of slain smuggler Veerappan.

In the interview telecasted by Sun TV on April 17th in the year 1996, Veerappan made some derogatory remarks against Sukanya. Soon, The actress moved Madras High Court demanding compensation worth 10,00,500 from Sun TV, Editor of Nakkeeran Mr. Nakkeeran Gopal and Veerappan. The case has been transferred to Fast Track Court later. Today, Judge P Chandrasekaran directed Sun TV to the compensation amount and also acquitted Nakkeeran Gopal.

Actually, Tamil bi-weekly 'Nakkeeran' obtained Veerappan's interview but it was handed over to Sun TV later as part of the agreement between them.

Actress Sukanya is making her comeback in Tollywood after few years. Buzz is that she plays Mahesh Babu's Mother in 'Srimanthudu'.
