A week after bus employee protest, the Andhra Pradesh government has agreed to 43% fitment for RTC employees. About 11,000 buses in AP went off roads and thousands of employees continued their strike demanding hike in their salaries.

The striking employees decided to call off their week-long strike following fruitful discussions on the demands with the government.The hike in fitment would burden the government to the extent of Rs.900 crores. Speaking to media after discussing with the RTC unions, AP minister Atchannaidu said that the discussions were fruitful and the strike had almost ended.
