Drinking water to Hyderabad city through Palamuru project

Finance Minister Eetela Rajendar today presented the Budget 2015 in the Assembly. Speaking on this occassion, the finance Minister stated that the TRS government is committed in utilising the Godavari and Krishna waters. Allocations are being made to Palamuru-Ranga Reddy lift irrigation project and Nakkalagandi Project.

Drinking water to Hyderabad city as well as the water for irrigation to 10 lakhs acres of land in Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda and Rangareddy districts will be provided through Palamuru-Ranga Reddy lift irrigation project.

Flouride affected regions in Nalgonda district and drought prone areas in Mahbubnagar district will be provided water fro drinking and irrigation in 3,40,000 acres of land through Nakkalagandi Project.

Apart from the above, reservoirs( Tadakalapalli, pamulaparthi) with a capacity to store 51tmc of water during rainy season will be built.

The TRS Government is committed to providing water for irrigation to about one lakh acres of land in each constituency. In the state Budget 2015, the government allocated Rs. 8500 crores for the Mission Kakatiya, said Minister Eetela Rajendar.
