Recently IT Official has conducted an interactive meeting with Tollywood industry producers regarding evading the income tax by some of producers.

According to IT officials around 2500 members need pay income tax but only 800 members are paying it and they added that around 2500 crores need to paid from Tollywood yearly but only 75 Crores is getting from Tollywood in form of taxes.

But producers are saying that the success rate in film industry is only 2% and IT officials are forcing them to pay advance taxes which creating problems.

Producer’s version is that the TDS percent is very high where most of the working people prefer to take cash rather than cheque due to this TDS. They also asked IT department need to give some exception in taxes for producers especially in TDS.
