KCR emphasises on making Hyderabad an encroachment-free city

Hyderabad: The Telangana government is mulling to distribute land regularisation documents to the poor in the State capital, who applied for them under GO-58 of the revenue department, after Sri Ramanavami festival, sources informed. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao held a meeting in this connection with senior officials of the revenue department besides Collectors of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts.

KCR sought information on number of applications received under GO-58 scheme (Free regularisation to poor who built houses in government lands measuring 125 square yards or below). In response, officials informed the Chief Minister that they received two lakh applications, out of which 1.7 lakh were found to be eligible. KCR emphasised that Hyderabad should become encroachment-free city in the near future. Enquiring about legal cases pertaining to defence and railway lands, he said decision regarding them would be taken later.
