New projects announced in Budget 2015

AP Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu announced some new projects in the AP State Budget for 2015-16.

The Finance Minister announced ‘No-frill airports to come up at Nagarjuna Sagar in Guntur and Donakonda in Prakasam district. He said that regional airports to come up at Kuppam in Chitoor, Dagadarthi in Nellore and Orvakallu in Kurnool district. Modernization of the existing airports will be taken up at Vijayawada, Rajahmundry and Tirupati. He said that Greenfield airport at Bhogapuram in Viziangaram district will be taken up.

Yanamala Ramakrishnudu announced that APGDC to set up FSRU based LNG terminal at Kakinada Deep Water Port and another LNG terminal at Gangavaram Port in Visakhapatnam district. He said commercial port in private sector at Kakinada will come up.

Announcing that Damodarm Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Project, Krishnapatnam will add 1,650 MW to APGENO. He said 2,500 MW capacity solar power parks will be developed in Anantapuram, Kurnool and Kadapa districts. He said that 10,000 solar pump sets would be installed during the year.

On industrial corridors, the Finance Minister said that Vizag-Chennai and Bengaluru-Chennai industrial corridors will be developed.

New tourism circuits to be developed in Krishna, Guntur, Chitoor and Srikakulam districts and Bhavani Island near Vijayawada to be developed as a major tourist destination.
