TV anchor Suma enters Limca Book of records

Suma Kanakala the homely Malayali Kutty is the Star Mahila of the Telugu TV industry. The most popular anchor in Telugu TV industry and now, Suma has added yet another feather in her cap.

The anchor has entered the prestigious Limca Book of Records for anchoring a single game show, Star Mahila, for more than 1800 episodes. The anchor took to her official page saying, "Very very happy to announce that ‪#‎StarMahila‬ has entered the Limca Book of Record for Star Mahila being the longest running Women’s game show being hosted by single host - Suma (sic)."

Suma had been hosting the show from August 9, 2008 for six days a week and on June 20, 2014, the show completed 1815 episodes, which made it the longest running women's game show in India. Her parents are P.N. Kutty and P. Vimala who were in Secunderabad for a very long time. Wife of actor Rajeev Kanakala, Suma is well known for her spontaneous humorous remarks during her show. She is a Malayali from Kerala, but speaks Telugu fluently.

She has acted on Telugu television in various serials and shows since the mid-1990s, but her breakthrough came with the boom in satellite channels; Swayamvaram, Geetanjali, and Ravoyi chandamama being her major serials. Suma's flagship show is Star Mahila on ETV, which attracts a wide range of female audience.
