Bengaluru: Embarrassed by statements of party MPs on the lack of scientific evidence to link tobacco with cancer, Union finance minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday asserted that a “multi-pronged” approach to discourage people from using tobacco was the need of the hour.

Mr Jaitley said, “Our stand on this is very clear that the government stands committed to discouraging the use of tobacco in the days to come.”
