Hyderabad: The AP Assembly is set to rock on Thursday as the main Opposition YSR Congress has given a privilege notice against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for the latter’s alleged threatening comments against the Opposition members in the House during the debate on budget in the Assembly.

Adding fuel to Naidu’s comments, TDP MLA B Umamaeshwar Rao’s outburst against YSRCP member Roja (calling her aunty) and certain angry retorts against Kodali Nani of the YSRCP in the House provoked the Opposition. The YSRCP is demanding action against Rao,  The ruling TDP has also given a privilege notice against Roja for her alleged abuse of the TDP members in the House and the objectional body language she had displayed.

The video footage released by the TDP had shown Roja and another YSRCP MLA Kodali Nani seen rushing towards the treasury benches and gesticulating to their counterparts. Roja was also seen making certain gestures and comments. The audio was however muted in the video clip.  YSRCP deputy leader Jyothula Nehru was seen intervening and pushing the party members back towards their seats. The House  witnessed the drama after it was adjourned.

Government Chief Whip K Srinivasulu alleged that the Opposition members stalled the House without any reason. He took strong exception to Roja’s behaviour in the House. Roja sought making public all the video footage recorded, including the TDP members who used the abusive language, during the protest staged by the YSRCP before the Chair. She alleged that government was stifling the voice of the Opposition.
