"Friends to Lovers?" star Greg Plitt was struck and killed by a train on Saturday in Burbank, Calif.
"On Saturday, January 17, at approximately 4:00 in the afternoon, we received a call saying that a male had been struck by a Metrolink Train in Burbank, California. Once police and paramedics arrived on the scene, the man was identified as George Gregory Plitt. Mr. Plitt was pronounced dead at the scene," Sgt. Chris Canales of the Burbank Police Department told Access Hollywood.
Investigators have determined this incident was not a suicide.
We can say that this definitely was not a suicide. There was some sort of filming happening at the time of the incident, but where not sure exactly what was being filmed," Sgt. Canales detailed.
Fitness model and writer Jamie Eason revealed he was filming an ad at the time of the fatal accident.
Greg had so many great things going on in his life right now, so to have his life end so quickly, hit by a train as he was filming a spot for his protein shake, is just gut wrenching!" she wrote on Facebook.
This is not the first time Plitt was dangerously close to a moving train. Fitness videos posted in March 2013 show him working out on and near Metrolink tracks.
The conductor attempted to warn Plitt of the oncoming train, but sadly he did not get off the tracks in time.
"According to several eyewitnesses, the conductor did see Mr. Plitt standing on the tracks, and sounded the train's whistle several times prior to impact. Unfortunately, he did not move out of the way of the train," Sgt. Canales told Access. "There was a security camera close to where the accident occurred. Detectives will be looking at that footage as part of their investigation into what happened."
Passengers on the train were unharmed.
"There were approximately 180 people on the Metrolink at the time of the incident. No one on the train was injured," he said.
Pitt served as a Captain and Ranger in the US Army and previously appeared on another Bravo series - "Work Out" - in 2008.
"We couldn't take our eyes off Greg Plitt after we cast him on 'Work Out'-was as nice as he was beautiful. Seemed invincible, like Superman," Andy Cohen Tweeted in reaction to the news.
The network also commented on the Bravolebrity's death.
"This is a terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with Greg Plitt's family and friends at this extremely difficult time," Bravo Tweeted.
"Friends to Lovers?" airs Mondays at 10/9c on Bravo. Greg appeared on the show with Melanie Marden to see if their friendship could evolve into a romantic relationship.
