Budding filmmaker Vijay Bhanuri passed away on Saturday night leaving many of industry friends and fraternity in shock, despair. Vijay had been suffering from brain tumour and succumbed to it. Vijay, who worked as an assistant director and associate Cinematographer for Pavan Sadineni's Prema Ishq Kadhal and Karthikeya, was part of Nikhil's forthcoming film Surya Vs Surya. Vijay had played significant role in Pondfreaks Entertainment. Vijay was in his 20s.

Condoling the passing away of Vijay, actor Nikhil wrote, "Was the most creative guy on sets.. Always with a smile nd warm... We have lost a key member in the Team.. Heaven is where u are now... Rest in Peace bro." Director of Surya Vs Surya, Karthik Ghattamneni who was more close to Vijay added, "The only reason we as a team pondfreaks existed...Vijay Bhanuri most clean hearted n warmest friend anybody can ever have.. Will miss u everyday raa..Rest in peace..!!"

Meanwhile, the audio launch of Surya Vs Surya was held on Sunday. Friends, colleagues of Vijay missed him a lot at the event and certainly mixed feelings were seen.
