Couple of days ago, a popular news daily published an extremely derogatory article criticizing the top stars of Tollywood and the superlative titles before their names. The article made a huge noise in the film circles and fans and received more brickbats than roses for coming down so heavily on our stars. However, here comes a twist in the tale.
Leading producer and distributor Dil Raju has apparently stopped giving any publicity material to the said newspaper and the producer is not even publishing the daily ads and Nizam/AP theater listings, in what could be termed as his sweet revenge. Since yesterday, no ads or theater listings of S/O Satyamurthy and OK Bangaram, both distributed by Dil Raju, are being published in the news paper.
There's also one more angle to this whole issue. Recently, the Telugu Film Producer's Council has reportedly taken a unanimous decision to give publicity material like TV spots, trailer ads and pre and post release interviews to only select few TV channels that usually have highest TRP ratings. Will the other producers follow Dil Raju's suit will be known in a few days.
