Superstar Samantha has given yet another hit in the form of S/O Satyamurthy. The Trivikram celluloid is going great guns at the box office and on this occasion, we caught up Samantha for a brief interview. Let’s see what she has to say.
What kind of feedback are you getting for your film ?
To be frank, I was very disappointed with the mixed reviews that our film got on the first day. But things slowly changed and the audience have accepted the film big time. The third and fourth day collections have been superb, and I am totally releaved with the success of the film.
You played the character of a diabetic. Tell us about that ?
The credit should completely go to Trivikram garu for sketching a character like that. I thoroughly enjoyed playing the role as I myself had diabetic problems some time back. It was a lot of fun doing such a hilarious character which was quite new for me.
How was it working with Allu Arjun ?
The day I knew I was working with Bunny, I immediately called up my stylists and asked them to be extra cautious with my costumes as I had to match up to Bunny’s style quotient. I learnt a lot from him during the shoots and was surprised to see the amount of hard work he puts in for his films.
This movie has three heroines. What kind of relation did you share with Adah and Nithya Menon ?
The shooting phase was absolutely smooth and went without any cat fights or ego problems. Nithya Menon is one the of the most talented actress in the south and I had a lot of fun working with her. Coming to Adah, I liked the way she carried her role with such dedication, and I genuinely want her to become super successful in the future.
When will we see you in an out and out performance oriented role ?
My upcoming Tamil film with Vikram will answer all your questions. It is the toughest role I have ever played till date. This role will showcase me like never before, and I am giving my best to prove everyone that I can also act well.
Recently, there were some reports that you are dating a business man from Chennai. What do you have to say ?
Laughs loudly. All these are just rumours which keep coming in regularly and I do not pay any attention to them.
How do you react to failures ?
Obviously, I get very disappointed when my films do not work. In today’s age, if one of your films does not run, we are written off immediately and that hurts badly. I always learn from my mistakes and try to give the best in my upcoming films.
S/O Satyamurthy is doing superb business in the US. How do you feel ?
I feel elated as this is my sixth film which has crossed the 1 million mark in the US. I am extremely happy thank god for showering me with such huge success.
What are your future projects ?
I have a practice of letting my fans know about my upcoming films only when I start shooting for them. But, I can say one thing is that at least one film of mine in a year will be character driven.
