Cast: Charmy Kaur, Sathya
Director: Puri Jagannadh
Music: Sunil Kashyap
Producers: Charmi Kaur, Swethalana, Varun, Teja, C. V. Rao, C. Kalyan
Timesofap Rating: 3/5
Story:Jyothi Lakshmi (played by Charmi) is a sex worker. Dhaya (played by Sathya) falls in love with Jyothi Lakshmi at a first sight. So, he brings her out of brothel and married her.
Her husband’s love made her to change into a good homemaker. But, Jyothi Lakshmi and Dhaya face some troubles. What are those troubles? How Jyothi manages to handle them? To find answers for these questions, you need to go to big screens.
Artistes Performance:Charmi delivered a power-packed performance. Charmi carried the whole film on her shoulders. Her expressions and dance moves are excellent. She bagged a much-needed hit in her career with this movie.
Debutant Sathya, who played the lead role, is at his best. Although, he is a debutant actor, he managed to grab the attention of the audiences. Brahmanandam offered laughs with his unusual performance. Remaining cast of the film is okay in their respective roles.
Plus Points:Puri Jagannadh’s direction is excellent
Charmi’s brilliant performance attracts the audiences
Story and screenplay is the major plus
Background score correctly suited for the theme of the movie
Minus Points:Jyothi Lakshmi moves in a slow pace but it picks up in the second half. Comedy quotient is less.
Technical Aspects: The movie was set in Goa and the beautiful locales were used aptly though the quality of the film looks little compromised. Like almost all Puri Jagannadh's film, this film too gets a thumbs down on its production values. Dialogues in the film were hilarious and the element of punch is too high “Time bomb ayina time lo pelluthundi, Pellam eppudu pelluthundo evvariki telidhu”. Puri Jagannadh was at his best in dealing with the dialogues for this film. Surprisingly, Jyothi Lakshmi was little dragging and lacks Puri's trade mark racy screen-play. Cinematography, Editing and music could have been better.
Verdict:
On the whole, Jyothi Lakshmi does not disappoint… Perfect film to watch this weekend… Power-packed performance by Charmi…
