On most nights, the devil inside Ram Gopal Varma's mind wakes up and creates a storm. While most of RGV's rants are conveniently ignored by his detractors and even his fed up followers, some of his comments on his Twitter page still manage to create mayhem. The eccentric filmmaker has once again managed to grab the limelight last night.
Yesterday, much awaited Bollywood film, Bombay Velvet, released to scathing reviews and poor openings and was panned by critics for its lacklustre story and poor execution. Incidentally, the film was directed by Anurag Kashyap, one of RGV's protégés and he was the script writer for RGV's iconic film, Satya.
However, things went wrong between RGV and Anurag and the latter came out of RGV's camp and also openly criticised RGV's poor filmmaking skills. Joining Anurag was Bombay Velvet's villain and popular filmmaker, Karan Johar. RGV and Karan's animosity goes a long way ever since RGV once mocked Karan's candyfloss films with melodramatic emotions. And Karan too gave it back to RGV in a fitting reply.
After keeping silent for years, looks like RGV got his chance to vent out his frustration and tweeted, 'The bottom line is everyone makes an AAG and till he makes his own AAG he will bitch about others AAGS until he too burns in his own AAG.' Surprisingly, RGV's tweet is being enjoyed by many who found Bombay Velvet unbearable.
