Director Karunakaran is a name that rings a bell for romantic comedies and youthful entertainers. His movies strike a chord with youth at the same time has great affinity towards families. Be it Tholi Prema or Vasu or Darling or Yuvakudu, his movies are clean entertainers made with latest trends.

However, in his latest offing, Karunakaran deviated from his traditional path and tried to emulate director Puri Jagannadh as Nithiin's characterization resemblances to Puri's characterization of hero in the movie. Unlike Puri, Karunakaran failed in execution leaving movie goers in disappointment.

Karunakaran even got it wrong with his previous film Endukante Premanta, and with his just released Chinnadana Neekosam, the director yet again proved that he lost his Midas Touch. His last hit was Darling in 2010, four years ago. It's high-time Karunakaran should reconcile else he'd be in trouble.
