Summer 2015: Biggies Killed Small Movie Makers

18th May, 2015 6:04pm     Tollywood      Comments
Two months of holidays. Complete free-time for family audiences and kids. And still Tollywood failed to cash at the box office. This is how Summer 2015 went with almost all the biggies creating fear and then dropping from the race.

Except S/o Satyamurthy, no other Telugu movies like Rey, Jil, Avunu 2, Dochay, Dongata and Lion have failed to click at box office. Only two tamil dubbed flicks Ok Bangaram and Ganga felt their presence felt. But the biggest season of Summer isn't properly utilised by Tollywood because everyone almost feared the arrival of Rudramadevi and Baahubali. Also Mahesh-Koratala movie and Raviteja's Kick 2 initially declared May as their release dates. This made many small movie makers withdraw from the race.

After confusing other filmmakers for a while, Rajamouli postponed Bahubali to July, while there is no clue about Rudramadev's release. Mahesh-Koratala flick pushed to July 17th and Kick 2 will hit theatres in June. What's the point in losing out a potential season like May and entering June and July when schools and colleges get re-opened. Should we not say our biggies have lost mind?

Except some least hyped movies like Pandaga Chesko, Asura, Tiger and Mosgallaku Mosagadu, there are no biggies that could satisfy urge of cinema lovers for the hottest second half of May. We have to see if any of these lesser-star films splash a terrific victory.
