AP Govt to reduce fees in Private medical colleges
AP has decided to slash the fees in private medical colleges. The government has decided to reduce the fees of convener seats from Rs 60,000 to Rs 10,000. The government also decided to fill about 85 per cent of the seats in private medical colleges through an entrance test.
Convener seats will remain at 50 per cent while management quota seats will be raised to 35 per cent. NRI quota seats will constitute 15 per cent. Sources close to health minister Kamineni Srinivas said that the decisions, no official order has been issued by the government as the code of conduct is in vogue. Fees for category A (convener quota) seats have been fixed at Rs 10,000 while that for category B (management quota) seats have been fixed at Rs 11 lakh.
