According to highly-placed sources, leading Telugu channel has been sold out. A north-based media group reportedly acquired the channel and the media group for fancy price. For an undisclosed amount, the deal has been carried out and new group may take over it in sometime.
The channel's founder-promoter along with its CEO said to have sold over 95% of their shares to the media house keeping only 5% of their shares with them. However, the duo seems to have decided to keep the tiny fraction of their stake for themselves, apparently, to maintain their presence in the group and run the show. A source in the know corroborated the news.
Although there has been news about Channel being for sale for a while, it finally seems to have turned out true. An official confirmation on the same is yet to be made. The channel is very popular for its sensationalism, dynamism and soon won the hearts of people. It also has its presence in other regional languages like Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Bengali and Gujarati languages.
