Center Knows Our Heart Burning: Deputy CM
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha said that the center was aware of the heart burning of the people of Telangana.
Speaking to the media here on Sunday, he said the people of Telangana want separate state and would not compromise on it. Referring to the talk about referendum on the status of Hyderabad, he said there was no such need. He said even people of Hyderabad want Telangana state. He has expressed the view that the center would stick to its December 9 declaration of 2009 on Telangana. He said people were expecting a declaration on Telangana as promised by the union government by January 28. He said he would decisde on his future course of action if a decision on 'T' was not announced by then. He however said that he was confident that a pro-Telangana decision would be announced.
When asked about the possibility of the TRS merging in Congress in the event of Telangana announcement, Damodara said the question should be asked to KCR. The deputy Chief Minister said there was need for young leadership in the party. He has welcomed Rahul Gandhi taking over responsibility as the Vice President of AICC. He said the party would face the polls in 2014 under Rahul’s leadership. He exuded confidence that Congress would romp back to power in the next elections also.
