Agra: A man accused of getting drunk and misbehaving with girls was dragged out of his house by a mob and thrashed in Agra. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified to as Jeetu and post-mortem is being conducted.
An eyewitness said, "He was beaten mercilessly. He was dragged and hit with sticks. Nobody helped him, no one stopped the mob."
The police said the probe is on in the case.
"He was allegedly misbehaving with women in the locality. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. We are probing the case."
The incident took place just a week after a rape accused was lynched by a mob of thousands in Dimapur city of Nagaland. On March 5, a rape accused was dragged out of Dimapur Central Jail by a mob, stripped, lynched and then hanged from a clock tower.
