Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday accused the TRS Government of implicating its political opponents into false cases and harassing them.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, along with Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Working President N Uttam Kumar Reddy, AICC Spokesperson Madhu Yashi Goud and former MPs Balram Naik and S Rajaiah, the TPCC chief demanded immediate withdraw of cases registered against activists, farmers and students since Telangana formation.
Mohammed Ali Shabbir strongly condemned cases against 17 leaders including United Telangana Front leaders Vimalakka and her husband Amar. "They were implicated in false cases in reaction to the meeting they held on March 23 at Machareddy in Nizamabad to protest against the injustices done with Beedi workers,” he said.
Shabbir Ali said TRS Government is trying to suppress the voice of everyone who is speaking the truth and exposing the failures of government. He added that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao should not forget that leaders like Vimalakka have played an active role in formation of Telangana State.
TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka pointed out the cases registered against the activists, farmers and students for holding protest against the TRS Government. He said cases of attempt to murder were registered against farmers in Khammam when they held a protest rally and informed that the TPCC has constituted a Fact Finding Committee led by Kisan Cell chairman Kodanda Reddy to enquire into cases against farmers.
