Hyderabad: As a part of the Hussainsagar dewatering project, the four sluices of the tank — two opposite Marriott hotel connected to the Lower Tank Bund Dhobhi Ghat; one at the Osmania University and one at Public Gardens Nampally — are being repaired.
On Friday, the wall of the Hussainsagar outlet opposite the Marriott hotel was demolished to carry out repair works.
An officials from the Buddha Bhavan, HMDA, said, “The sluices (a sliding gate or other device for controlling the flow of water) of the Hussainsagar are not in working condition, except the one at the Osmania University. The sluices are being repaired so that million litres of water per day can be flushed out when the dewatering process is underway. It will take 15 days to repair each sluice would take 15 days to be repaired. Currently, the sluices opposite the Marriott are being repaired. The Public Gardens outlet would be next.”
The official stated that so far there is no information regarding the date of Hussainsagar dewatering.
