APSRTC Bus number AP28 Z 1053 met with a major Road accident this morning when the Bus fell into a valley. The APSRTC bus was on the way to Madakasira from Penukonda.

About 12 passengers are reported to be dead of which majority of them are students. 24 passengers are reported to be severely injured.

As per the reports, the driver of the palle velugu APSRTC bus tried to divert the bus in order to escape the Auto coming from the opposite direction. In the process, the bus fell into the valley.

About 60 passengers are reported to be travelling in the bus during the accident. The injured are shifted to the hospitals in Bangalore and Hindupur.
