New Delhi: An unidentified miscreant threw eggs and a stone at Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal at a rally in north west Delhi.

The incident occurred while Kejriwal was holding a public meeting at Jalebi Chowk in Sultanpur Majra Assembly constituency.

Kejriwal escaped unhurt as, luckily, the eggs and the stone fell short of the podium from whewre he was addressing the gathering.

Taking a jibe at the Congress and the BJP, the AAP chief said, “Want to tell BJP and Congress, if they think throwing egg and stones will silence us then they don't know what we're made of .”

Kejriwal also criticised both the BJP and the Congress and asked people to vote for AAP in the upcoming Assembly polls to ensure that party comes to power again in the national capital with full majority.

Reacting to the incident, Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said, “Everything with AAP is scripted, nothing new in this.”

His party colleague and MP from New Delhi constituency Meenakshi Lekhi said, “One may have to track a trail that this was a method to create hype around AAP & Kejriwal.”

“This is a case of shadow boxing, I still maintain that AAP is a B team of Congress. Another possibility can be that dissatisfied former supporters might be venting their frustration with Arvind Kejriwal,” she said.

This is the second attack on the former Delhi chief minister in Sultanpur Majra. While campaigning for Rakhi Birla, AAP's Lok Sabha candidate for North West Delhi, Kejriwal was hit by an auto driver in the same area.

Last month, Kejriwal was attacked while addressing a rally at Deoli during a 'jansabha' for party candidate Prakash Jarwal, also the second time in the area.

Addressing an another rally in Wazirpur Assembly Constituency, hitting back at PM Narendra Modi, who had said BJP had a mastery in governance, the AAP leader said his party knew the art of wiping out bribery from governance. "The Prime Minister launched an attack on me in a rally, saying Arvind Kejriwal is a Naxal. Am I a Naxal? Do I need to go to forest?" former Delhi CM said.

This is the first time Kejriwal has responded to the Naxal barb in a rally.

In an apparent reference to Kejriwal's comment made almost a year back that he was an "anarchist", Modi, in his rally on Saturday, said, "If somebody is an anarchist, he should go to the jungles and join the Naxals."

Meanwhile, a day after the announcement of Delhi Assembly election dates, AAP leaders got into a huddle to formulate strategies for the February 7 polls in which it is locked in a direct fight with Bharatiya Janata Party.

In last Assembly polls in Delhi in 2013 December, BJP had bagged 31 seats in addition to one by its ally SAD, falling short of a simple majority in the 70-member House. AAP had won in 28 seats, followed by eight of Congress.
