5% Power tariff hike in AP

The power tariff will go up by 5 percent this year and those using over 200 units per month will be facing the hiked tariff burden.

While the cottage industries and agriculture have been totally exempted from power tariff hikes, the domestic consumer has to pay more (5 % hike) over and above 200 units.

The APERC Chairman Bhavani Prasad announced the tariff hikes which also exempted some categories of LT-3 consumers such as poultry and sugar industries.

The APERC also directed that the state government would pay Rs.3186 crore to the discoms towards all subsidies - agriculture, industrial cross subsidy.
