Jayasudha comments on Rajendra Prasad's victory as MAA president
Actress Jayasudha who lost MAA (Movie Artistes' Association) election to Rajendra Prasad has broken her silence and finally reacted to the outcome. Congratulating Rajendra Prasad on his victory, Jayasudha, however, alleged, "He is making fun of me. It is very sad that Rajendra Prasad is talking so even after election is over and result is out. I'm upset with the reaction of Rajendra Prasad soon after the results. He should maintain his dignity. It's not fair for him to make fun of his colleagues and other members of MAA."
Setting the record straight, Jayasuha made it clear that she doesn't want to participate in future events conducted by MAA. "I don't want to participate in MAA events or programmes. But I'll do my best to help from outside," said Jayasudha. Expounding reasons to stay away from MAA programmes Jayasudha said, "Rajendra Prasad is not speaking responsibly. He is a comedian in films and is behaving like one outside as well. This is why I don't want to take part of MAA programmes."
Explaining reasons for her defeat, Jaya said, "I entered just one day before the election and I didn't campaign like him (Rajendra Prasad). Yet I managed to secure 150 votes and 22 members of my panel won. Being woman, I did my best in the election and it's a moral victory for me." Jayasudha hoped that the new president would work for poor artistes and fulfil his poll promises.
Rajendra Prasad won by huge margin, edging out Jayasudha by 85 votes. Sivaji Raja is elected as the new general secretary by beating his counterpart Ali by 34 votes. Tanikella Bharani has been elected as executive vice-president. Only 394 of the total of 702 members came to vote on March 29.
