Three new battalions sanctioned for Telangana
Hyderabad: Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma has announced that steps were being taken to issue notification for filling up of nearly 18,000 vacancies in the police department. The DGP made this announcement while addressing a press conference in Warangal on Monday. Speaking about cash-for-vote case, he said that the Anti-Corruption Bureau was dealing with the case and law would take its own course.
He also informed that three new battalions have been sanctioned for the State and one of them would be stationed in Warangal. He said that a new building will be constructed for the recently constituted Warangal police commissionerate at a cost of Rs. 5.50 crore. Five new police stations will also be set up under it. It would be upgraded on the lines of Cyberabad commissionerate, he added.
Law and order in Hyd under TS govt Director General of Police Anurag Sharma asserted that the law and order in Hyderabad would be under the control of the Telangana government. He maintained that Hyderabad was part of Telangana and hence the law and order would be controlled by Telangana government.
He said this while responding to a question over the demand for implementation of Section 8 of AP Reorganisation Act. The DGP was in Hanamkonda on Monday to commission a fleet of 12 patrolling vehicles and seven armed interceptor vehicles allocated for Warangal Police Commissionerate.
