AP CM Chandrababu to work from Vijayawada from June 2
In a significant development, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will be working out of his Vijayawada camp office from June 2, according to sources.
At the same time, AP Cabinet has decided to lay the foundation stone for the new capital, Amaravathi, on June 6.
During the Cabinet meeting it was decided that the state government will initiate a Nava Nirmana Deeksha on June 2 and a huge public meeting will be organized on June 8 in this connection.
The AP Cabinet also decided that the construction work of the new capital will begin from Dusshera, sources said.
Chandrababu is believed to have dircted Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu to head a cabinet committee to oversee the shifting of staff and files from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. Other members of the committee include Ministers K. Atchennaidu and Prattipati Pulla Rao.
The committee has also been mandated to check out and arrange for the buildings of tourism department and other private buildings in Vijayawada to shift the AP departments.
