Owk reservoir to be developed as a tourist spot
Kurnool: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said that the Pattiseema project work would be completed in one year. Speaking to the media at the Owk reservoir in Banaganapalle mandal, Naidu said he had directed the Principal Secretary, Irrigation, to initiate immediate steps for the safety of the Srisailam dam, without mentioning the threat aspect.
The Chief Minister stated the Owk reservoir would be developed at a cost of Rs 10 crore, after including it under tourism. It would be made a beautiful tourist spot. He asked the Irrigation Department officials to complete the Owk tunnel work in six months.
Naidu said the Gorukallu reservoir in Panyam mandal would be completed in a year to facilitate storage of 12.5 tmc ft. Water would be made available near Gandikota to irrigate 50,000 acres. Gorukallu would be given irrigation water from the Pattiseema project, he stated.
