AP Govt Ban on Cultivation sparks controversy,AP Government imposing a ban on cultivation in new capital area

AP Government imposing a ban on cultivation in new capital area didn't go down well with the farmers of Krishna river bank villages as this will have an impact on those who didn't participate in Land Pooling Scheme as well.

Farmers staged a protest against the state government accusing it of not even consulting with them while taking such a big decision. Opposition Parties YSR Congress, Congress and CPM extended support the farmers. These protests were in response to CRDA Commissioner N Srikanth's announcement that farmers will not be permitted to grow crops in capital area from next agricultural season.

Mangalagiri YSRC MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy told River Bank Farmers will teach a lesson to CRDA Commissioner if he visits the villages falling in capital area. He went on to say Government was unable to acquire at least 500 acres in his constituency.
