Karnataka High Court on Saturday questioned does the Tamil Nadu Officials used their 'Comman Sense' while estimating the value of properties owned by former CM J Jayalaithaa and her three aides (Sasikala Natarajan, VN Sudhakaran and Illavarasi) in the illegal assets case.
Juctice CR Kumarawamy questioned how fare is to quote the market price of marble at Rs 5,000 per square metre in the year 1994. "Hardly, The actual price will be anywhere between Rs 100 to Rs 150. Its a matter of common sense," he opined targetting Officials who over valued the properties of Ex-CM.
While the actual value of properties of all the accused in around Rs 10 crore, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) over-valued them to Rs 28 crore. The Special Bench directed Tamil Nadu Officials to submit proper documents which were close to reality.
