Union Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya is scheduled to launch three new social security schemes on Saturday at the same time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches them in Kolkata. Andhra Bank Deputy General manager C Dhananjaya said the bank has organised a programme to launch three new schemes_Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyothi Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana.
The event will take at University Arts College auditorium in Hanamkonda at 5.30 pm. Dhananjaya said that the schemes are aimed at providing accident insurance, death insurance and monthly pension to all the people in the country. The premium to be paid is very minimum and could be payable annually.
Those having banks accounts can tie up with the schemes or may open new accounts, the official explained while speaking to press persons in Hanamkonda on Friday. Andhra Bank will be acting as the nodal bank in implementing the schemes.The bank has already completed linking 38,000 bank accounts with the new schemes and efforts will be made to link one lakh accounts with the news schemes by May 31 in the district.
People between 18 to 70 years age can make use of the scheme which will be open for a limited period. The schemes will provide great benefit to the people in unorganised sector, petty vendors, poor and middle class people, Dhananjaya added. Later in the day, he held a meeting with the District Collector V Karuna and discussed arrangements of the launch of the schemes.
