The ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the new capital city for Andhra Pradesh is likely to take place in the second week of June.

Minister for Municipal Administration P.Narayana, now camping at Tullur in Guntur district, told a national daily over phone that the Government pooled 15,000 acres by Feb 3 and is likely to garner 20,000 acres by Feb 10.

The daily said , quoting sources, that the Bhoomi Puja is likely to take place on June 11 or 12. The exact venue of the Bhoomi Puja will be decided by the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

The Government has also sent a detailed report to the Centre on land pooling, constitution of  CRDA and other structures such as assembly, Secretariat, Raj Bhavan, offices and quarters for departmental heads, MLAs, Ministers and hospitals and educational institutions.
