Following in the foot steps of Kanna Lakshminarayana, Botsa Satyanarayana is likely to switch political loyalties from Congress to Bharatiya Janata Party in Andhra Pradesh.

The former Pradesh Congress Committee chief went into oblivion after the Congress party's no-show performance in the recent legislative assembly elections. There are strong indications that Botcha, who has been staying away from party activities, is all set to quit Congress and join the saffron party in the hope of reviving his political fortunes.

If this happens, the Kapu leader, whose community has a major presence in Seemandhra, will be benefited. Meanwhile, the BJP will be looking to strengthening its hold in Uttarandhra.

This development could spell near doom for Congress in Andhra Pradesh.
