The four day long strike by unions of state transport corporations' employees has been called off.
The decision was taken at a meeting between Transport Minister V Senthil Balaji and leaders of the unions at Secretariat on Wednesday.
The government has agreed to constitute a tripartite committee to negotiate on wage revision. The Minister would head the panel. The unions' leaders said their demand for the withdrawal of cases against some employees had also been conceded while a government official said the demand would be considered.
