Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s aerial survey of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts ended abruptly on Sunday with the helicopter developing a technical glitch.
Mr Rao wanted to examine roads and junctions in the city and outskirts where skyways can be built to ease traffic congestion besides examining forest land and government land available there. Mr Rao concluded the survey without making inspection at ground level as the helicopter could not land at specified locations.
He is scheduled to take up aerial survey of Warangal on Monday to examine land for setting up a new textile park. Initially, the CM had originally planned the aerial survey of city on Saturday and officials made all the arrangements for the purpose. However, it was eventually postponed due to the visit of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan to CM’s camp office in Begumpet on Saturday. As per schedule, Mr Rao was to visit Kandlakoya on Medchal Road and Narapally in Ghatkesar but could not make it due to a technical problem in helicopter.
Mr Rao surveyed Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park, which is a deer park located in Vanasthalipuram.
Last week, during a meeting with senior officials at Secretariat, Mr Rao had proposed to build elevated corridors, skyways and multi-level grade separators in at least 35 to 40 main junctions in the city to overcome heavy traffic problem.
So far, Mr Rao aerial surveyed junctions from Hari Hara Kala Bhavan to Uppal, Masab Tank to Hari Hara Kala Bhavan, Nagarjuna Circle to Madhapur, Tarnaka to ECIL crossroads, Charminar to BHEL.
