In February, much to the dismay of the entire media world, the CBI arrested Deccan Chronicle’s Chairman T Venkatrami Reddy and hisyounger brother on the charges of submitting fake documents to avail bank loans. The said crime was to the tune of 357 crores, which the DC chief sought from Canara Bank following the company suffering huge losses with Deccan Chargers in IPL and the airline company Air Deccan.
Adding to these woes, the Delhi Police arrested Venkatrami Reddy last night on the charges threatening and assaulting a person. Following the complaint filed by Munish Makkad, who had done investigations on the DC Chairman regarding the bank loan fraud, the Delhi police nabbed him and are now investigating him for further insight.
Already, the police filed an FIR under criminal trespassing, arms act, wrongful restraint and threatening a witness, assault and other sections of the Indian Penal Code. The accused was produced before a magistrate where the police had sought three days for a preliminary investigation to identify his moves and other people involved in the conspiracy.
