Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali has promised total transparency in the implementation of Re 1 a kg fine rice scheme across the Telangana State.
Speaking after launching the scheme at Malakpet here on Tuesday, the Deputy CM said that the implementation of the scheme was being monitored by a Task Force headed by Civil Supplies Minister Etala Rajender. He said steps were being taken to prevent black marketing of fine rice meant for the poor people. He said deserving beneficiaries are being supplied six kgs of fine rice per person at the rate of Re 1 a kg and there would be no mediators.
Speaking about the land regularisation schemes, he said free registration of land up to 125 sq yards would help the poor people and it was being done by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to fulfill the promises that were made by the TRS party during elections.
The scheme was also launched by Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Excise Minister T Padma Rao at different places in the city. (INN)
