Hyderabad: Government employees of Telangana State can now get free medical services and tests in all government and district hospitals along with NIMS in Hyderabad.
Special out-patient (OP) services also will be made available in district hospitals.
This provision will come into effect in NIMS immediately while in other hospitals the scheme will be implemented in a phased manner within one month.
Health and Medical Minister C. Laxma Reddy discussed on this issue with officials of various wings of health and medical department.
According to the Minister, out-patient services and medical tests will be conducted between 2 pm to 4 pm everyday for government employees in district hospitals.
In NIMS, services will be available from 8 am to 1 pm in line with other patients. Providing of OP services in the evening is under consideration.
Special arrangements will be made as there are no basic and laboratory infrastructure in NIMS.
Minister Laxma Reddy will discuss with the representatives of Telangana Super Specialty Hospitals Association (TESHA) over their demands. The government is reportedly ready to increase the price of all medicines and tests packages by 25 per cent, as requested by corporate hospitals.
