Minister Narayana,Land Acquisition Act,Farmers,Capital City
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh state municipal minister P Narayana gave a last call to the 200 farmers, who went to the high court challenging acquisition of their fertile lands by the state government for building the capital city.
He said “Farmers should utilize this last opportunity and accept all the benefits of land pooling system. Government is determined to go ahead with its land acquisition process and lay the foundation stone for the capital city in June 1st week. So, if the farmers do not cooperate with the government, then we will be forced apply land acquisition act to take the lands from the farmers. But, we don’t want the farmers to loss with it. So, I appeal the farmers to reconsider their decision and handover the lands under land pooling system to avail all the benefits declared by the government.”
“We are aware that some political people are trying to create obstructions in the land acquisition process. But, we are determined to go ahead with our plans and complete the first phase of construction of the capital city before year 2018,” said the minister Narayana.
The high court has asked the AP government not to pressurize the farmers to handover their lands or not to stop them doing cultivation works in their lands. But, minister Narayana is threatening the farmers to clinch their lands using land acquisition act. If so, the farmers may again knock the court doors complaining against the minister for contempt of court orders.
Janasena party president Pawan Kalyan also announced that in such case he will join the farmers to fight against the state government. Need not to say, the opposition parties in the state will never leave an opportunity like this to corner the government. So, the last phase of land acquisition process is likely to throw a big challenge for the state government, opposition parties and farmers also. Andhra farmers
