The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has found a way out to the one-minute scam caused by the touts in online booking of railway tickets.

Now only one train ticket can be booked online with one login and after it the session will expire automatically. This restriction on booking of e-tickets has been imposed by the Railways only for time between 0800 hours till 1200 hours.

The control will leave no room for the touts who were earlier cornering around 4000 tickets daily, exploiting the single-user facility and the one-minute open window of online booking system of railways.

The restriction will not be applicable while booking onward journey/return journey e-tickets. It will also not be applicable on defence booking under warrant.

As per a statement issued by Indian Railways, “There will be a restriction of only one booking in one user login session in e-ticketing and forced logging out of the user before another booking for all users including IRCTC agents.”
