Buoyed by the success of their rail tour packages, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) under South Central Railway Zone has announced its maiden outbound tour package to Thailand, this season.

Releasing details of the tour package christened ‘Thailand Delights’, here on Saturday, IRCTC Deputy General Manager (SCR Zone) N. Sanjeevaiah said that the international tour would begin from March 31 at Hyderabad and conclude on April 4 (i.e., 4 days and 5 nights package). “All through this trip, we have ensured that people need not spend any extra amount, except for their shopping. This maiden venture would focus on providing an unforgettable experience to the travellers,” he maintained. IRCTC (SCR Zone) is also planning to introduce special packages to Shirdi, Varanasi, Gaya, Allahabad and other pilgrimage destinations from Tirupati. Summer packages, alongside the holiday destinations, to Mysore, Ooty and Coorg will also be announced soon, asserted Mr. Sanjeevaiah. Besides this, IRCTC (SCR Zone) has also launched a novel initiative – Concierge Services, to put an end to the hassles faced by passengers in finding a porter or a cab. Those, with a confirmed train reservation, and travelling from New Delhi, Mumbai, Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam can book these services (cab and porter) in Tirupati, 36 hours in advance through the websites www.irctc.co.in and www.irctctourism.com.
