Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao warned that those who indulge in irregularities in the lakes restoration works will be sent to jails. Online tenders will be called for transparency and those eligible can get the bids to complete the works on time with quality he said. He was addressing a public meeting at Nizamabad rural area after beginning Mission Kakatiya works.
Speaking on the occasion he said that the Government is calling open tenders online to maintain transparency. This will enable the efficient and eligible contractors to take the bids and comply with standards he said. Any dereliction in the works will cost the contractors who will be sent to jail after getting block listed. Any sort of misuse of funds will cost the contractors and officials dear who will face the music he further warned. The Government is firm in its brainchild of completing the 46,000 lakes in a phased manner involving local representatives, officials and people. The aim is to address the perennial poverty and misery in rural pockets which was caused due to lakes that gone dry for decades.
This can be attributed to the negligence of successive governments which had no vision to focus on the lakes restoration, he said. He appealed to the contractors to take up the works on Mission mode to complete on time. The works should be completed as per schedule to ensure that the rural areas will be enveloped under greenery and water bodies, lakes and ponds, he stated. He also participated in digging of the lake works at Sadashivapet. The Chief minister announced several sops, including Rs 1 crore from CM Relief Fund, besides the funds allotted in Mission Kakatiya. KCR also sanctioned 11 sub stations with 33/11 KV capacity, ITI and 100 bed hospital for Tadwai Mandal, Nagireddypet, Malthummeda, Agri Polytechnic College between Medak and Nizamabad, Community and marriage halls for Muslims and Christians.
