Jharkhand Petroleum Diesel Association has called for a statewide strike on Thursday, July 9.
President of the association Ashok Singh told Zee, "State Government has forced us to pay an additional 4% VAT on petroleum product making it 22% instead of 18%. In the neighbouring states petrol and diesel are available at cheaper prices and as a result, we have already suffered a loss of crores of rupees."
On July 9th all petrol pumps of Jharkhand will be shut down from 6 am to 6 pm, informed Ashok. He threatens, "If government doesn't withdraw its decision of additional VAT, we will speed up the movement."
